BENEFITS OF THE TRAIL OF TEARS
During the Trail of Tears, there were benefits for both the Native Americans and the American settlers.
Benefits for the Native Americans
The Native Americans, although have it rough, they get the first glance at new living. None of the American Settlers have been passed the Mississippi River at this point. They get to be some of the first people (from the east) to move westward and live new lives. They get to learn how to grow new types of crops in new climates. They are also able to learn how to use the plants that already grow there. These are some good benefits for the Native Americans.
Benefits for the American Settlers
American settlers have the better share of this story. They get to expand into new land, and they won't have to share the land with the Native Americans. The American Settlers now have the entire land area from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi River.
